Dick Ebersol released from hospital

Grand Junction, CO - NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol and his son Charlie were released from the hospital Monday, a week after surviving a charter plane crash that killed three people, including Ebersol's youngest son.

Ebersol's 14-year-old son, Edward "Teddy" Ebersol, was killed in the crash, which occurred at Montrose Regional Airport on November 28. The jet crashed during takeoff in light snow, fog and freezing temperatures.

The pilot, Luis Alberto Polanco, and flight attendant Warren T. Richardson III were also killed in the crash.

Ebersol became president of NBC Sports in 1989. The network has since become the carrier of the Olympics, buying the U.S. broadcast rights for every Summer and Winter Games through 2012. Ebersol also worked as an NBC entertainment executive and was an executive producer of Saturday Night Live in the early 1980s.
